OUR FANTASTIC SUPPORTERS:
Help us spread the word:
The more extensive a man’s knowledge of what has been done,
the greater will be his power of knowing what to do.
Benjamin Disraeli
Polly Martin, inspired by our long time close friend, supporter and walker Richard Davy (who sadly passed away in 2021) walked the South West Coast to Coast Ultra Challenge in his memory.
100km in two days raising £1500 and all for OVAID! 👏🦧
Well done and thank you Polly.
Daredevil supporter Nicola Tagart risked life and limb by Wing Walking on a biplane high over the kent countryside just to raise funds for OVAID and Animals Asia
This superhuman effort raised more than £1300 for OVAID! Thank you Nicola ✈️£🦧
Ardent Supporter Richard Davy walked the 'Two Moors Way' 100 miles across Devon for OVAID raising over £1000 and all in the week prior having to go into hospital!
Sophie Brown and Hannah Mackins signed up for OVAID's Tour of Sumatra and as part of their fundraising efforts the pair climbed to the summit of Ben Nevis - Britain's highest mountain.
Congratulations girls - a fantastic effort for the orangutan!
Dan Kitchener a long time supporter of OVAID completed :
10 Marathons
1 Ultra Marathon
2 Half Marathons
His medal total is shown below - not that we need proof but they do look spectacular.
During 2015/16 he personally raised almost £1500 for us - enough to purchase a whole anaesthetic machine and ancillaries !!
Our sincere thanks to Dan for his superhuman effort which has made such a difference for the orangutan. The anaesthetic machine will be placed at a centre which previously had no machine and will enable the vet team to conduct safe anaesthetic proceedures which were not possible before. A brilliant example of how our supporters efforts have such a direct, important and long lasting effect.
THANK YOU DAN from all the team at OVAID
Millie Brown from Adelaide
Millie organised a Private Screening of Kate Winslet's new film 'The Dressmaker' at a local cinema - with more than 60 people attending
she raised over $1000 for OVAID!
OVAID says a really big 'Thank You' to Millie for her effort and for helping us to provide more funds directly to the orangutan.
Sophie Brown
Raised more than £1000 for OVAID in just 1 DAY !!
Sophie spent a month volunteering in Ketapang, Kalimantan and on her return decided to fundraise on our behalf:
With her friends, a generous landlord and helpers she organised a fantastic fun day at her local pub - The Roebuck Inn, Harrietsham.
Organising a raffle / car wash / barbeque / cake stall and evening party she single handedly raised 20% of the total needed for our Anaesthetic Machine No Pain-Our Aim Campaign!
She even persuaded the infamous Kristi Smith (volunteer facilitator in Ketapang) to travel all the way to Kent just to wash cars!!
A fantastic effort from Sophie which we really appreciated and it just shows what can be done.
Congratuations and a huge thank you Sophie for your determination and dedication!
Baileigh-Anne Palmer
One of our youngest supporters at only 8 years old Baileigh-Anne did a marathon Hula Hoop session for World Orangutan Day back in August and raised nearly £200 for OVAID!
Thank you Baileigh-Anne!

The painting will be auctioned in 2016 but we are already selling an exclusive and very limited edition of signed and hand finished prints by the artist .
Sarah Hayes
Yet again our Australian supporters have excelled themselves.....Sarah Hayes from Adelaide, an ex orangutan volunteer, has magnificently raised £1,957 in 2015 by holding just three fundraising dinner parties. The money raised went a very significant way towards our appeal to raise funds to equip COP's vet clinic at their new rescue centre
And all done whilst studying for her degree.
Thank you Sarah for such an outstanding effort

You can help in many other ways:
Adopt an orangutan vet!
Whilst everyone wants to adopt a baby orangutan, it is imperative that these rescued orphans and adults have vets to take care of them. By making a donation to OVAID, your money will enable us not only to supply eqipment and medicines, but also to help fund a specialist vet to look after their health. You will effectively be adopting an orangutan vet.
